We pledge to continue our work of centering and amplifying the voices of students, artists, scholars, and other cultural workers of color who have too long been silenced or sidelined. We are committed to strengthening diversity in the museum field—both within our institution and beyond—by supporting professional pathways for individuals from traditionally underrepresented groups.

We pledge to continually seek out new ways to challenge and interrupt narratives and beliefs that enable, excuse, and empower discrimination. We take seriously our obligation to channel the resources of the Colby Museum and the Lunder Institute for American Art to shape change today, as well as to support tomorrow’s leaders, providing the creative and critical tools and the opportunities needed to help us build a world in which Black Lives Matter finally becomes a lived reality.
