We are very excited to bring The Lunder Institute @ series home to Colby College Museum of Art to culminate its inaugural year. Launched in February of 2024, after traveling from California to New York and through Arkansas and Massachusetts, the Lunder Institute @ the Colby College Museum of Art will be hosted at the Gordon Center for Performing and Creative Arts on Tuesday, October 29 at 4:30 PM in Studio One followed by a reception in the Olentine Forum at 5:30.
This event will provide an opportunity for the Colby community to learn about this innovative program and how it has served as a vehicle to create conversation between art institutions across the country around the state of American art. Each of the six museums, Each of the six museums, The Broad, the DeYoung, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Addison Gallery of American Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art, will be represented and share what they have learned and taken away from being participants of this first Lunder Institute @ cohort. The panel discussion will be facilitated by Lunder Institute Director, Erica Wall. Come hear more about how art institutions across the country have responded to the question “what is the state of American art?”
We hope that you will be a part of this conversation and ask your questions!
